Later this month, LittleBigPlanet makes its debut on Sony’s latest portable console when it is released for the PS Vita. Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Worldwide Studios, has just posted the picture of Ico running on the PS Vita via Remote Play. His tweet continues to say “We are almost ready with a patch. Beautiful on OLED. More info soon,” indicating the patch will enable remote play functionality on the game soon.
At the IFA expo in Berlin this week, Sony CEO and President, Kazuo Hirai, once again confirmed that the PS Vita is performing as expected, but “trending behind in certain territories.” Sony went on the record to address reports of the Vita failing to sell worldwide, with the portable gaming marker dominated by iOS and Android devices.
North America’s PlayStation Store has been updated with more PSOne classics for the PS Vita. The original list of 9 officially supported titles has been updated with the addition of 26 new titles. The newly buyable games include classics like Arc the Lad II, Medal of Honor, SimCity 2000, Tekken, and many others.
SCEA’s Pub funded title Dragon Fantasy Book II is heading to the PS3 and PS Vita next year on PSN. This ” classic” RPG is a full-blown sequel to the original title, but will feature improved animations and an all-new battle system, while keeping true to the original title.
Recently release PS Vita Firmware v1.80 has another undocumented feature. This time, it’s enabled games with local-only trophies to be synced to the PlayStation Network. Free-to-play title Treasures of Montezuma Blitz is one title to benefit from the update.
The PS Vita’s latest firmware update adds PSOne compatibility to the console, but there is one big flaw that Sony has failed to mention. Despite Sony releasing over 100 compatible titles in Europe, not all of the titles can be directly downloaded to the console.
North America is only able to download 9 officially supported PSOne classics to their PS Vita at the moment, but a larger list of games is actually supported on the console. Over 70 games can actually be downloaded onto the PS3 and then transferred to the PS Vita – check out the list below.
