The latest PS Vita firmware went live overnight, updating the system software to v2.10. If you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber and have automatic updates turned on, you’ll find the firmware update already downloaded and waiting to be installed. In addition to folders, the firmware update adds and improves a number of features.
As mentioned in our earlier post, you can now conveniently organise your games and apps however you like. You can save up to 10 icons in one folder and give it a specific name. The Group Messaging application has also been updated, allowing you to easily select multiple recipients to send messages to. You can also find the following enhancements:
- Email – add multiple addresses per contact and display HTML messages.
- Photos – zoom-in in HD.
- Sound – auto mute when your headset is unplugged and pause your music when using the music app.
- Email – search message body.
- PlayStation Plus – upload Game Saves via a 3G network connection. Now supports automatic updating of PlayStation Mobile applications and syncing save data to the cloud.
- Icon – New icon on the Status Bar to show which game card is currently inserted into the PS Vita.
- Icon Layout – The icon layout is now saved to the memory card so you can switch between cards without having to rearrange your icons everytime.
