Sony has revealed that PlayStation Mobile is expanding to an additional eight countries across the SCEE region today: Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland,Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and New Zealand. If you don’t already know, PlayStation Mobile games work on PlayStation Certified smartphone and tablet devices, like the Sony Xperia series, and the PlayStation Vita console.
In an interview at the Eurogamer Expo in London, Sony UK’s Fergal Gara has revealed that a UK launch date for the PS Vita TV is in discussion. In an interview with CVG, Gara said that UK consumers should “watch this space”, adding “let’s get it out in Japan, see how successful it is, and take it from there”.
Details about the PS Vita’s PlayStation Plus program will be unveiled next week, according to Chris Howe, the new PlayStation Store and Plus Content Manager at SCEE. Speaking in the comments of the latest Blog post, Howe confirms that the first details will be released next week, and will hopefully include details of cloud storage, automatic updates and free games.
PlayStation Mobile is now live on compatible Android devices and the PlayStation Vita. Accessing the PlayStation Store on the PS Vita shows the new PlayStation Mobile tab. Over 20 games and apps have launched with the PSM roll-out, with prices from just $0.49 / £0.40.
A listing on GAME’s website revealed the first details on the new Need For Speed: Most Wanted coming to the Vita. The PS Vita version of the game will include events and challenges that makes use of the console’s hardware features including the camera and microphone.

As you all know, PlayStation Vita launched in Japan last weekend, and now SCEA have confirmed details about the North American launch on February 22nd 2012. At a press even in London earlier today, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Studios Europe, Michael Denny, gave a presentation announcing the PlayStation Vita launch line-up and upcoming games, as well as showing off some of the social features of the PlayStation Vita.
SCEE have today revealed the final box design for both the PS Vita Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi & 3G models which were first unveiled at Tokyo Game Show. In addition, SCEE have also revealed the app icons, features and services that come pre-installed on PS Vita at launch.
As part of Sony’s press conference at the Tokyo Game Show earlier this morning, Sony have issued a press release detailing the PlayStation Vita complete tech specs, launch line-up and pricing details. First up, there are 26 games available at launch, with more than 74 currently in development.
