The days of the PlayStation TV are numbered, as Sony stops shipping the device in Japan and has halted production of the device. Also known as the PlayStation Vita TV in Japan, the device has been around for just a little over 2 years, and allowed gamers to play a subset of PS Vita games on a large screen.

Sony Stops First-Party Development for PS Vita
Sony has effectively sealed the fate of the PS Vita going forward after announcing that it is stopping development of first-party titles to focus on the PS4. SCE Senior VP Masayasu Ito revealed that there are no first-party titles in development, and since third parties are still developing for the PS Vita, Sony will be focusing on the PS4 instead.
PS Vita Successor Unlikely at Present According to Sony
While the PS Vita is a great portable console, it hasn’t had much success around the world. In the four years that it’s been available, it’s faced heavy competition from the Nintendo 3DS, and gaming on portable devices such as mobile phones. In fact, Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida says that because of the latter, a successor to the PS Vita is unlikely at the moment.
Facebook Support Being Removed from PS3 and PS Vita
Sony has announced that it is terminating support for Facebook on the PS3 and PS Vita. Full support will be withdrawn at the start of next year, but the application for the PS Vita and PlayStation TV has already been removed from the PlayStation Store as of September 15th 2015. Support will continue for the PS4 so you can continue to upload videos and screenshots.
Sony Confirms No New AAA First Party Games in Development for PS Vita

Free to Play Title Destiny of Spirits Shutting Down June 30th 2015
Sony has confirmed that free-to-play title Destiny of Spirits on the PS Vita will be closing down its servers on June 30th 2015. For those that have invested money in the game, their Orbs will expire when the service closes.
PS Vita Firmware v3.50 Available Tomorrow
Alongside PS4 Firmware v2.50, the PS Vita will also be getting an update. PS Vita Firmware v3.50 will add new accessibility options, including enlarged text, increased contrast and more. This update also enables PS Vita to support 60fps streaming for Remote Play.
PlayStation Mobile Shutting Down in July 2015
Despite being popular with developers and regular new content, Sony is shutting down PlayStation Mobile this July. Support for PlayStation Mobile has already been dropped on Android devices and soon it will be dropped for the PS Vita too.
