January 28th, 2015 / Niraj Shah / News

Sony have announced that with immediate effect the YouTube and Map applications on the PS Vita have been discontinued. In addition, some features of the Near app will also be removed. The YouTube app has already been removed from the PlayStation and support for the app will cease on April 20th 2015.

Users will still be able to access YouTube from the browser, and continue to access their YouTube data by signing in using the game Google account. The Map application and Near features will be removed from the PS Vita in the next software update, which is scheduled for March 2015.
