Resistance: Burning Skies to Spread “Virus” Using Near

May 21st, 2012 / Niraj Shah / News

The fifth title in the Resistance franchise, Resistance: Burning Skies, will be available on the PlayStation Vita at the end of May across Europe. With just a few days to do until release, Frank Simon, Senior Managing Producer at Sony Computer America, has revealed that the game will make use of the PS Vita’s Near application.

Don’t worry – it’s not as bad as it sounds!

The social and location based service, Near, will enable players to become infected with the Chimeran virus for multiplayer bonuses – and ‘gift’ these to other PS Vita users to spread the virus across the globe.
