Treyarch and Infinity Ward “Not Involved” with Black Ops: Declassified

September 10th, 2012 / Niraj Shah / News

In a recent interview with CVG, it’s been revealed that neither Infinity Ward or Treyarch have had much input in developing their  first FPS PS Vita title, Black Ops: Declassified. Despite the two companies developing one of the biggest gaming franchises, Sony’s Nihilistic Software have been developing the title.

Nihilistic Software also developed Resistance: Burning Skies for the Vita. Treyarch communications manager John Rafacz said the Activision and Sony have formed a “partnership” to develop and market the game, but haven’t not licensed the Call of Duty brand to Sony.

Presumably, it was a way for Sony to get a big title to the PS Vita. Early reports suggest that the title may not live up to its name, and Nihilistic’s Resistance title only managed mediocre reviews. We will just have to wait until November to see how the game turns out.
