Rumor Alert: PSOne Compatibility Coming to PS Vita at Gamescom

July 25th, 2012 / Niraj Shah / News

PSOne compatibility for the PS Vita was promised before the PS Vita even launched, and was confirmed for this summer at E3 back in June. According to an ‘insider source’, Sony will release the PS Vita firmware update to enable PSOne compatibility on the device during Gamescom next month.

Firmware 1.80 for the PS Vita will be release between August 13th and 19th. Sony’s Press Conference will be held on August 14th 2012 at 7:00pm, so the firmware update is likely to be available that evening. Sony’s Gamescom plans are not yet know, so we’ve filed this as a rumour for now.
